However, if we spend too much time being exposed to the sun, as a result, we can suffer from skin burns afterwards. How to avoid such side effects of sunbathing? In this case, suffice to cover your skin with a sunscreen. Obviously, the best one possible, is the cream made at home.
Homemade cream with UV filter – preparation.
In order to prepare your own sunscreen, collect the following ingredients: 125 ml of almond oil or olive oil, 60 ml of coconut oil (it contains natural SPF 4 filter,) 60 ml of beeswax, two spoons of zinc oxide (contains SPF 20+,) one teaspoon of E vitamin taken from capsules, two spoons of Shea butter (another natural SPF 4-5) and any essential oil you like. Worth mentioning, E vitamin as well as essential oil are the optional ingredients. The rest of the components, except zinc oxide, have to be thoroughly mixed and melted in a hot water bath. After that, you can add zinc oxide and mix it with the previously-combined substances. Pour the mixture into a jar made of dark glass since only such kind of a container provides longer expiration date of your cosmetic. Put the jar aside, to let the mixture cool down and become congeal.
Sunscreen – useful tips.
Your homemade sunscreen contains SPF 20 filter. If you want to enhance the protection from the sun, then add more zinc oxide. Worth mentioning, the cosmetic is not waterproof, therefore, after swimming and after every two hours it is advisable to reapply the product. Moreover, store your sunscreen in a cool and dry place. Its expiration date is estimated around six months.
